Wani Market is an online marketplace dedicated to Afro-Caribbean cultures, based in Orléans (Ottawa). It offers a curated selection of African and Caribbean food products, hair and skin care products designed for textured hair and melanated skin, as well as handicrafts, textiles, jewelry, and original artworks—including the founder's paintings.
Mission
To offer the Afro-descendant and Caribbean community direct access to authentic and quality products, while creating a space for belonging, cultural transmission, and creativity—and to introduce the Canadian public to the richness of African and Caribbean cultures.
Vision
To become a central cultural hub in Ottawa where commerce and community nourish each other: a place where people come as much to shop as to connect, create, and celebrate their identity.
Values
- Authenticity: products that respect the traditions and expertise from which they originate
- Accessibility: making visible and accessible products that are often scattered or difficult to find in Canada
- Creativity: art and craftsmanship as a living expression of cultural identity
- Cultural Pride: celebrating and promoting African and Caribbean heritage
